This morning, I had (yet another) brilliant idea. Not as brilliant as my alternate basketball league idea, but still brilliant.
Professional All-Star games suck. All of them. And I have the solution.
We need all of the major sports leagues--NFL, MLB, and NBA (suck it, NHL*)--to come together and do the following.
-The NFL agrees to move its All-Star game to the middle of its season like a normal fucking league. The NBA & MLB adjust their schedules just a smidgen so that this NFL All-Star game can occur just after the World Series and just before the NBA's regular season.
-All-Star players from MLB play in the NFL or NBA All-Star game. All-Star players from the NFL play in the MLB or NBA All-Star game. All-Star players from the NBA play in the MLB or NFL All-Star game. This will rotate from year to year.
-So it's like Rock n' Jock, but without the Rock!!! And without any sport-appropriate Jock!!!
-At the start of each calendar year the commissioners from all three major professional leagues get together and hold a secret lottery, in which it may be randomly decided that instead of basketball being played in the NBA All-Star game by NFL or MLB players, instead of baseball being played in the MLB All-Star game by NFL or NBA players, instead of football being played in the NFL All-Star game by MLB or NBA players, during that calendar year, hockey will be the sport played in every All-Star game; though, other-sport athletes will continue to play in these games.
-The Hockey Wild Card is included for two reasons. 1) Because it would automatically result in the three highest-rated hockey games of the year, which would be an additional FU to the NHL. 2) Because it would be hilarious to watch professional basketball, football, and baseball players sliding around on the ice like retards.
-Sadly, we all mourn what could have been, upon imaging Yao Ming playing hockey in the MLB All-Star game.
*--dropping this idea in this thread = adding insult to injury, NHL. SUCK IT

I just saw that Prosector wrote a 50,000 word essay on Tristan Thompson's per minute rebound stats proving he is a skilled basketball player.
I read ten words and may be scarred for life. Sorry, but I can't read your post right now. Fuck I can't read anything for a few hours.

Makes sense to extend that stat given TT can't shoot and gets his own boards, and Kanter plays volleyball like Z.

God bless PROS for pointing out that a team that is amongst the worst in FG% has some of the players with the highest offensive rebound rate, conflating blocked shots with good defense, and praising a PF that has no offensive game for not being one of Hollinger's top 60 rebounders.
What, exactly, do you think the Cavs' FG% is when TT is in the game? Is it even 40%?

That thread is the worst thread in the history of the interwebs. That I made it as long as I did is a testament to my stupidity.
Holy eff, two pages on Sullinger being Kevin Love and then two pages on Tristan Thompson being Dennis Rodman.
I'm.... so.... much..... dumber..... now....

I mean THIS IS A REAL SENTENCE: "Now hold on, before folks start shooting themselves in the fucking face, let me say I'm not claiming TT is a better shot blocker than Dewey, even though he does it more frequently. "
