MKG reminds me, a lot, of a closer to the basket playing Brandon Roy.

And bow, stoner colleges don't deserve basketball teams, let alone elite eights!!!!

MKG reminds me, a lot, of a closer to the basket playing Brandon Roy. Which means what exactly? I'd flip your "if Barnes needs X to do Y, he'd better be Z!!!" to: if a prospect can't shoot (especially when he's being considered for a now-PG-centered team!!!), he'd better be really exceptional at something!!! I don't know what that thing is with MKG.

I don't know what that thing is with MKG. He's good at everything though. Barnes is okay at defense, meh a boards (and an SF, not a SG), miserable to dribbling and elite at shooting. MKG is just good. And for as much as I hate to use the "just has it" card, kid does. Effort means something. MKG is an elite rebounding, pretty darn good scoring and meh shooting guy. The positional difference makes a pretty big deal too IMO. Give me a team of MGK and BIG HANDS over a team of Barnes and X NBA replacement two. That said, Tristan Thompson starting on my team is a really bad idea, whereas it could potentially maybe happen on your team. Maybe.

<--confused
(Are they not both NBA 3s?)

Barnes shooting being better than MKG's could help a non existent offensive play like TT exist. A creator like MKG helps him less so.
And IMO, MKG can play the two (which is a premium these days!), Barnes cannot ever at all.

<-- isn't crazy in seeing a better all around athlete in MKG v. Barnes, RIGHT?
I'll openly admit I may be nuts and maybe MKG isn't and can only play the three, but meh. Still prefer his all around skills to a one trick poney.

Have you watched Beal? He'd be my "just kind of good at everything" guy. And a SG!

FWIW: DX has Gerald Wallace as MKG's closest comp and I don't buy that.

Yeah, I've come real far on Beal and would flip a coin right now between him and MKG at two.
With the caveat I have not watched the undersized PF from Kansas like at all besides laughing at NC State at the bar last night.

Also, don't let any of the above go down as me being A Harrison Barnes Guy. I think I might like him better than another guy, and those two better than a guy I don't like at all.
Odds are quite good that he spends his career as frustrating-Lamar-Odom-style-why-the-F-aren't-you-better-than-you-are-because-you-know-you-really-should-be guy.

And this Louisville team has to be one of the best coaching jobs Pitino has produced.
Horrible offense (100-something ranked offensive efficiency) playing above it's head since Big East tourney.
Bring on Bluegrassagedon!!!

on top of the ladder!

(Serious comment: should I have heard about this before, or was this not commonly known until right nowish?)

Harrison Barnes can't create a ham sandwich without someone spreading the mayo for him.
His NBA career arc is Wayne Ellington.
Blech.
Oh...surprised by Thad story. He kept that story quiet when it could have been milked.

Rex Chapman said Harrison Barnes is Calbert Chaney. I think that is generous.
Dude didn't show up. Couldnt shake a defender and is a wasted lottery pick waiting to happen.
I have become more 'against Barnes' than 'for insert player name' in this draft.

Rex Chapman said Harrison Barnes is Calbert Chaney. I think that is 95% based on jersey number, race, and position. Fixed!

Maybe if 14 players didn't have to be.
Sullinger has about a 3-inch vertical, Andre Drummond sort of maybe wants/prefers to be good, John Henson is a moron, Perry Jones is pathetic, Terrence Jones' college coach seems to kind of hate him, Jeremy Lamb's shot selection & effort is nearly as ugly as his face.
^The competition.
