Apparently the top defensive prospect in the 2013 Draft is named Barkevious Mingo.
Yes, I'm researching the 2013 NFL Draft

I could see things getting pretty heated in here in a couple months with the whole Barkley vs. Wilson vs. Weeden conversation going on.
I'm talking 3-5 posts minimum.

In researching the up-and-coming SEASON OF MEYER I accidentally started reading about the top QBs in the nation.
Apparently there are like 20 guys that are raw, have ridiculous potential and could become first round QBs this year!

I don't think Jake Heaps is coming out early, e0.

I mean, obviously, Heapz has to sit out a year before becoming BRADY QUINN II for Fat Charlie/KU.

15 rookies on the roster! They're rebuilding for the future!
Bullshit. What were they doing the previous 2 years? That's what we should have seen in Heckert's first year or two; they shouldn't need to carry 15 fucking rookies on the roster at this point, it's an outrage. I mean seriously: 6 undrafted rookies? Good job; three offseasons to build talent and this is what we get.

These things happen when you steadfastly refuse to make any acquisitions through free agency.
They're nearly $20M under the cap Last year they were $25M under the cap 2010 was uncapped; they were in the lower half of the league spending then
And it's why H&H will get the axe after the season. You can't sit on your ass and stockpile assets for the future until you've established yourself on the field. These guys all wanna be the friggin Patriots or the friggin Eagles, but they want to skip the part where you put a good football team on the field first and go straight to the part where you strategically plan to stay good.

Winning cures.
I don't care if the roster is full of muppets.
Win, dammit.
If (when) they get axed, it will because they failed to win.
If their approach is the reason they don't win then find guys who have a better plan. If their plan to draft their way to respectability is sound but they poorly drafted then get better evaluators. If its coaches then get better coaches. I don't care what it is I just hope somebody figures it out.

"Oh, Tom Heckert is trying to do things the right way, even though he might be able to save his job if he didn't go overboard with the rookies this year and instead got some vets!"
Horseshit. He's trying to save his job by saying, "Look how young we are! Just keep me around for a few more years and all of these rookie castoffs will be studs!"

Outside of making no move for any legit FA's I don't see what you are all bitching about. Didn't we have 11 rookie's last season?
It's not like we cut any decent vets for an undrafted FA. So if we had signed 2 or 3 vet FA's we still have a roster of 12 or 13 rookie's. The only difference is you'd be bitching because you couldn't find a Cortland Finnegan or Ben Grubbs Browns jersey in your size.
Let's wait and see how the team looks before we set everything on fire.

No moves for any legit FA's for two years, and the fact that it is year 3 of the new regime. Not year 1 or even 2.
I struggle to see how the coaching staff can have enough time to develop 15 rookies and 11 second year players; having an overwhelming amount of youth doesn't mean they will develop it effectively. I would hazard that it is counterproductive to the development of the young players, from the standpoint of individual attention in practice, being forced into games when not ready, and having to play with a bunch of other guys in the same boat.

Now, all that said, if Richardson is what everyone thinks he is and Weeden can threaten teams down the field, then I think they could shock people and get to .500 or better.

2010: Worse than 2009 2011: Worse than 2010
All indications are, 2012: Worse than 2011
Only in Cleveland does everyone act like this is "being on the right track!"
I made the comparison that last year was like 2000. This year is going to be like 1999.

So are you saying that we are going to be 3-13 or worse?? I guess I'll have to disagree.
I don't understand why people think we will be worse than last season. If Weeden > Colt then we should be better just with that. Not to mention Trent or the other youngsters developing.
Where did we get worse? Replacing Mike Adams at FS with Eric Hagg?

I am still confused on what your point is. So you are upset with H&H because we are last in preseason power rankings?
I'll be watching the game from my couch tomorrow. I'll be far more interested in seeing how the youngsters that Heckert has acquired look over wins and losses all season.
I think most will be pleased after this season, but I have been wrong before.

Holmesgrinz, Heckyeah and Shirmer all think the Browns are waaaay better.
Who to believe?
Teams I think are worse than the Browns: Dolphins, Colts, someone from the AFC West, Cardinals and Rams
My projection: 6-10 with a hope that they stay healthy and things click in the second half for a 7-9 record
