What I enjoy most about internet posters talking about concussions is how it has one from "there's no problem, I played football in middle school and you don't see me with brain damage" to "duh, of course there's brain damage, everyone has known that forever" in only a few years.
Meanwhile ignoring all of the evidence that the NFL suppressed and fought back against any research on this for years, put out their own bogus research while at the same time sending guys right back in.
It's one of those things that everybody now says is so obvious, that of course repeated sub-concussive blows cause long term damage. Duh. But even a few years ago people thought it was bullshit. To say nothing of the long term impact of actual concussions.
If it wasn't for the NFL acting in bad faith with their "research" wing, it would be one thing. But they were actively fighting against the medical community.

Just wait a couple more years til they figure out that millions of dudes will have to live with this stuff after only a couple years of damage they took playing rinky dink high school football.
Duh.

It's fairly amazing that every year, the offense is even worse than the last.

(has there been any talk on Cleveland boards about the fact that Shur! is Chip's OC yet, because that irony is not lost on me at all)

So the last post in this forum was 6 days ago. Are we officially calling it quits here?

Meh, if people have something to say they'll say it. As usual though, not much to discuss. I don't know if you've checked the various Cleveland boards but besides the titanic sea of moronicy that is the OBR most all sites are... well... quiet.
The most discussable team right now is OSU and no one here cares about CFB.

I am guessing you and bow are mostly at TCF, which I haven't been checking. I'll start there I guess.
As far as the others on this board, who knows. I think some are still on the OBR. I know I am.

I mean most people are still checking here and TCF goes through weeks with literally 25-50 posts total. Just wait until the Browns season is a whole four weeks old.

This Trent Richardson thing is possibly the funniest thing I remember ever seeing happen in sports.

Well, at least we're going to find out how smart Banner/Lombardi really are based on Richardson's play on the Colts.
I've been pretty sour on Trent's performance. But hard to judge with such inept offenses.

WHAT DOES EL PRESADOR THINK? I NEED HIS INPUT! That was definitely in my top five immediate thoughts when the news of the trade broke.

What level does Trent have to perform at for this to be a win for Indy?

What level does Trent have to perform at for this to be a win for Indy? I mean, he can catch the ball and they can stretch the field. There is no reason he shouldn't at least perform at a Joseph Addai level. Do you consider that worthy of a first round pick? The question actually is how far above replacement level does an RB in the NFL have to perform today in order to merit a first rounder.... Doug Martin? AP? CJ Spiller? And, of course, you have the different values for certain positions at different stages of building. Julio Jones being worth an entire draft for the Falcons...

That's a great question, e0.
I've been wondering that since the trade. Don't have any answers...but do think that Trent didn't impact the game nearly as much as a 3rd overall pick should have...thus making him easy to replace.

Also, at the bare minimum I would say "better than Eddy Lacy" is necessary for the Colts.

That was actually the question (how good does a first round RB have to be) I was asking. For a pick in the range 12-25, he probably has to be a Pro Bowl type player. If you could guarantee that you will get 1300 yards, 50 catches, and 10+ TDs from a guy for 5 years, he would be worth a first rounder. For the #3 pick, he should have been a HOF candidate.

After the initial "shock" that there was an actual trade in the NFL...it seems the growing consensus is much more supportive toward the browns decision to do this.
I liked it when it broke and I like it all the more. Hell, at this point lets use the cap space and trade Joe Thomas for a truckload of picks.

Why do I keep reading that the Browns traded away their best offensive player?
Joe Thomas is their best offensive player. Also clearly better than Richardson: Mack, Gordon, Cameron. Could make a case that Richardson was as big a disappointment as Little.

This the point where battered Browns syndrome kicks in and you start talking about how the Dolphins are giving the Falcons all they can handle and could be 3-0 by the end of the day, and they hung with the Super Bowl champs on the road, and they didn't have Gordon for either of those games and BORWNZ.

I look foward to more lines like this (from the ESPN game story) Richardson carried 13 times for 35 yards, giving the Colts quite the 1-2 punch with Bradshaw's 19 rushes for 95 yards. Yeah. That's some kind of 1-2 punch alright.
