It's too bad teams can't win SBs behind Roger Craigs anymore.

Hey, are you ready for some real insight which will settle your debate once and for all? THE TEAM WHOSE QB PLAYS BETTER WILL PROBABLY WIN. Those are the FACTS of the NFL in 2012. ^Teeheez. What's funny, though, is that the following: -The best way to win is with good/great/elite QB play. -The best way to get good/great/elite QB play is with a good/great/elite QB. -The best way to get a good/great/elite QB is through the draft, rather than FA. -The best way to get a good/great/elite QB through the draft is at the tippy top. ^All true. It's just that through a mass repetition of hyperbole, people start replacing all those "bests" with "onlys" and they start saying stupid things.

Though, the Ravens' D only giving up 11ppg this postseason (kick return TDs excepted) points more in the direction of "underachieving SF defense," no? Against Luck, Manning, and Brady? Sure, but is the Ravens D even really that good or just on some ridiculous hot streak? I don't see all of this elite talent that is carrying them (and didn't carry them all year long).

The Colts were overrated and their OC missed the game with an ear infection. Peyton Manning couldn't throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield because of his neck combined with the temperature (why haven't people really mentioned this? it seemed obvious during that game). The Pats are like the offensive equivalent of the bend but don't break defense; they rely on perfect execution and defensive breakdowns to move the ball. If they don't get that, it is too hard to move the ball 4-8 yards at a time and score consistently. That's why they always have trouble with the Ravens, who have two guys who ensure their defense executes near flawlessly.

I'd lean hot streak. Though, I think you could say the same about some of the "elite" QBs who've won in recent years. Likewise, in hindsight, it's "What? The Baltimore Ravens defense, with all-time great Ray Lewis, wasn't a great defense?!?!?!"

And when Kaepernick wins the next six Superbowls you'll be eating your elite words!!! I will do no such thing. Regardless of where he's at in 6 years, he isn't there now. More fun with numbers! Playoff QB Rating ranking for SB QBs, winners boldfaced: 2012: 1st & 2nd 2011: 2nd & 4th 2010: 1st & 10th 2009: 5th & 6th 2008: 1st & 2nd2007: 4th & 5th2006: 9th & 10th2005: 1st & 4th 2004: 1st & 6th 2003: 2nd & 5th2002: 4th & 6th2006 is probably my favorite. In hindsight, it's evidence that you need an elite QB to win it all; but at the time, it was Peyton Manning not self-destructing while his defense got hot at the right time. ELITE!

Top 5 Defenses (Pts Allowed) / Record... Naturally, we'd be the worst team out of the 50. Borwns.

Can't we just say New England is a tad overrated and Baltimore was especially tired of them and just leave it at that before going into the whole QB discussion? Because this is more probable than anything else. How bout we just say the league in general blows

Three in a row is not a ridiculous hot streak. One of the many flaws of this stupid league.

And when Kaepernick wins the next six Superbowls you'll be eating your elite words!!! The read option looks like something that you should be able to figure out at halftime. So it will take the geniuses in the NFL roughly 2-3 years. Enjoy it while it lasts, Kolin!

They tell me it took them years and years to implement replay and the overhead cam. The NFL right now has made it very clear to us that they didn't want to eliminate the chains, but augmenting them wouldn't be a bad idea." NFL = Run by cavemen, for cavemen

Dr Brown the flight of the ball is easy to track in tennis, since a ball in flight necessarily follows the laws of physics. not so for a football in motion, in the hands of a ball carrier, in football. its oblong shape forces a judgment call on its point of forward progress, and its typical random path at arriving at its final destiny can't be tracked by a simple law of physics. 1 Minute Ago ยท Reply
