I would never, ever, ever, pay for that shit.
The Ticket was 100% free (and I still almost didn't go).

But the lure of Jackman was just too much for you to resist, right?

16-months-fresh Drive mini-review:
Style, yes. Music, yes. Story, bah. Dialogue, ha!
Not since You Got Served has a love story been told so beautifully/lazily/montagily.
Perhaps I shouldn't admit to an awareness of this reference, but this movie often felt like a hybrid of a regular run-of-the-mill action movie and, say, MTV's The Hills. 4 words of shitty dialogue, music(!), music(!), music(!), change scene, repeat.
I spent a lot of time being distracted by, "WHERE IS THAT HAIR LIGHT COMING FROM?!?!?!"
Ron Perlman's face might give me nightmares.
Yet it was still kind of decent.

In terms of Sci-fi Looper is pretty damn good.
WAY better than Prometheus.

I think I've whittled my 2012 watchlist down to:
Absolute certain definites:
Django Unchained Moonrise Kingdom The Master Gregory Crewdson: Brief Encounters
Maybe/probably:
Zero Dark Thirty (strangely low IMDB numbers through 7Kish votes) This is Not a Film Looper The Batmanz (if there's ever a Blu Ray edition that's cheap enough) Seven Psychopaths (if I like In Bruges when I finally get around to watching that) Amour Holy Motors (sounds like the kind of movie I'd hate, but shrug) Argo (even if I'm about 99.9% certain it's ceiling is meh+)

Add to the list for 2013, bow...of course you won't get to that list until 2017 so we should have a good idea by then.

JayAre should exclusively play ex-boxers from now on. That way he'll have an excuse for always sounding so retarded.

Moonrise Kingdom was disappointingly just OK-to-Goodish.
It had Wes-Andersony character & style. It didn't have anything approaching a Hackman-as-Tenenbaum or Shwartzman-as-Rushmoreperson performance; let alone a Paltrow-as-Margot or Murray-as-Rushmorerichguyperson performance. <--Where it falls short, IMO.

I do want to state that the more I think about it the more you are right about JayAre. Ex-boxers could provide him with a hell of a career.

Way behind.
Expendables 2 :Feh Stupid. Directed by the guy who did Con Air. This man actually looked a Nic Cage's hair in that movie and thought, "I'll let that be in my movie." Should tell you all you need to know.
Dredd 3D: Heh- This was actually a solid action movie. A no BS, hard R comic movie. Garnered some good reviews, but got overlooked by viewers. Worth a rental/download, maybe even a purchase.
Looper: Meh The prosthetics on JGL were distracting and the finale was kinda boring.
Skyfall: Meh+ I liked it more than Bot and George did, but agree that it was pretty overhyped.
The Hobbit: Meh + This was the opposite, bashed by critics, when it wasn't really all that bad. It had its flaws to be sure, and I'm still wondering why/how Jackson's making three movies out of it. I'll bet the studio didn't complain, $3 billion is better than $2 billion. Also the actor who plays Bilbo is really good.
Zero Dark Thirty: Heh
The Good: Credit to Bigelow for being able to create tension in a movie where we know all of the major events and the ending. Because she does a great job. She's also able to find that perfect balance in depicting the CIA work as not too fantastical or too mundane, you feel like it's probably pretty close to how that stuff works. Chastain is great, and so is Jason Clarke.
The Bad: Mostly just the controversy and politicization shit surrounding it.

Man George, you're a tough crowd.
Can you list ten movies that you actually liked? 'Cause I'm beginning to think that your entire home movie collection is "Big Trouble in Little China."
Don't get me wrong though, I love BTILC.

Oldboy was OK.
It might have been better if what prompted me to watch it hadn't also outlined/spoilered the entire plot.

bob...that main chick in Zero Dark Thirty was seriously overacting... If you say so. I thought she was fine, not spectacular or anything. Wasn't the character supposed to be a bit much though? Either way, I was mostly just ribbing you about your general disdain for popular stuff.
